About Us
The Curious Goose is a community workshop in Downtown Dartmouth, offering woodworking and design classes, as well as other fun experiences for kids and adults. Our goal is to build community through a culture of hands-on creativity — bringing meaningful ideas to life, and stepping into our power to shape the environments we believe in.
We're inspired by curiosity, a love of beauty, and the joy of creating.
Our story
Hi! Dallas and Talis here. We are two members of a big family, teaming up to launch the Curious Goose! For years, our families have shared spaces, adventures, and dreams of creating an educational and experiential community space, and we are thrilled to finally bring it to life!
The Curious Goose combines Dallas’ woodworking and design skills with Talis’ background in community building and youth education. We share a passion for learning through a lens of mindfulness, which helps us all to develop essential skills needed to create beautiful things: presence, discipline, attention to detail, and, of course, curiosity!
We are lucky to have the support of Dylan, Sandy, Sam, Annie, June and lots of friends and chosen family who you will see at the workshop. We couldn’t be on this journey without them! What’s that saying? It takes a village! Not just for raising kids, but definitely also for starting and running a small business. We’re so grateful. Come visit and be a part of co-creating the emerging story of the Curious Goose!
