About Us
The Curious Goose is a community workshop in Downtown Dartmouth, offering woodworking and design classes + other fun experiences for kids and adults. Our goal is to build community through a culture of hands-on creativity—bringing meaningful ideas to life, and stepping into our power to shape the environments we believe in.
We're inspired by curiosity, a love of beauty, and the joy of creating.
Our story
Hi! Dallas and Talis here! We’re brother/sister-in-law, and we’re teaming up to launch the Curious Goose! For years, our families have dreamed of creating an educational and experiential community space, and we are thrilled to finally bring it to life!
Here’s a little bit about us:
Dallas (Hendricks) has over 10 years of experience in woodworking, custom furniture building, manufacturing, user experience design, and operations in tech startups. He is our Operations and Creative Director.
Talis (Apud-Martinez) has spent over 20 years starting and leading youth movements and social enterprises focused on technology, food, and education. She is our Executive Director.
The Curious Goose combines Dallas’s traditional woodworking and design skills with Talis’s expertise in community building and youth education. We share a passion for teaching through a lens of mindfulness, which helps us develop essential skills needed to create beautiful things: presence, discipline, attention to detail, and, of course, curiosity!
